West Cheyenne Residence
At West Cheyenne, Tremmel Design Group transformed a more than a century old home into a contemporary estate that includes a home office with separate entries and private guest house above the 3-stall garage, all located on a stunning four acre property.
Turkey Creek Residence
Conceptually, the structure is an insulated core with calibrated openings and views that can be manually opened or closed, and wrapped with a wide-sweeping sun shield. Puncturing the sun shield is a calculated light to give the Client a moving sun beam, always protected from the elements. Optimizing its compact size with minimal tempered space, the amount of finished interior space was matched in exterior space.
The design opportunity arose from inspiration of a property’s unique characteristics. Located within an ever-changing microclimate and quite remote location prompted us to provide for as much passive energy as the site could produce, leaving very little reliance on man-made power. Nestled amongst boulders with beautiful patina, aged conifers and vivid wildflowers, the cabin will give the couple a permanent moment of solstice.
The Broadmoor Residence
When the Clients inherited a 1970’s family home, it led to a difference in opinion regarding what to do with it. To him, it was sentimental and full of potential. For her, it was too small, dark, and outdated. After months on the market, the couple met with Rich Schell of Rich Designs Home to discuss staging. It was in those discussions when the Clients began to imagine how the home could compliment their new lives as empty nesters.
Manitou Southwestern
This project seeks to add a southwestern glow to the quirky town of Manitou Springs. The scope of this project involved adding a covered extension to the current parking at the front access to the property, with an enclosed storage below. The exterior stairs were relocated in order to accommodate the client’s need for a more organized space. Exterior changes were made to the patios, drainage patterns and retaining walls in order to enhance the nature of the existing house and improve the current function of the property. Kiva Construction did a wonderful job with the construction of this project.
Cliff Point Residence
This high-impact remodel and addition began with a client recommendation of a residence designed by TDG Architecture decades ago. The home is sited atop a beautiful site that overlooks a small, wooded scene, and was our focal point with redirecting, and opening the interior, towards this view. The existing home’s style held such interesting shapes and materials that our new design work attempted to complement the reasons why the client’s purchased the home in the first place.
